EXHIBIT DEPARTMENT SPECIAL EVENTS, COMPETITIONS, AWARDS

Dressed Up Twinkie contest
Kids ages 5 to 8 are invited to submit their most creative dressed up Twinkie. Entries must be submitted on August 11 during the Baking and Candy Department entry hours of 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Events Center. Each youth submitting an entry will receive a free Fair admission ticket. Only one entry per exhibitor is permitted and all decorations must be made from edible ingredients. Bob's Best Home Baked Bread Contest
If hand-made bread is what you do best, enter a loaf in Bob's Best Home Baked Bread contest. Sponsored by Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods Inc., each loaf entered in the contest must be made from scratch using fresh ingredients and Bob's Red Mill products. Winner's prize checks will be mailed directly from Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods Inc. after September 15, 2007. Submit your loaf of bread, along with your recipe and a label from Bob's Red Mill Flour.

Outstanding Art Award
A $100 cash prize to the Outstanding Artist by the Emerald Empire Art Association Gallery will be awarded at this year's Fair. Stop by the Artisan's Showcase in the Gleason Atrium to see this year's winner.

"Oregon's Natural Beauty"
Visit the Floral Department in the Auditorium to see this year's Garden Club theme "Oregon My Oregon," a free standing design to be viewed from all sides. Also, don't miss a hands-on experience with dish gardens and floral arrangements.

Recycled Art Contest
Youth are encouraged to enter the Youth Art Exhibit Department and display their artwork in any medium or format. Materials in the art piece must be safe, non-toxic disposable and recyclable. Cash award for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Judging is conducted by the People's Choice voting at the Youth Art Department, Meeting Room 4 in the Events Center during the Fair. Sponsored by Ambassador Piping.

Manga/Anime Drawing Contest
Enter the Youth Art Exhibit Department for this contest. Two categories are offered: 1) Comic Art and 2) Animals. All work can be either black and white or colored. We suggest that you make your lines clean and dark for best visibility. Sizes larger than 4" x 6" and smaller than 11" x 17" will be accepted. Three age categories will receive 1st and 2nd place, each. Prizes consist of art supplies and how-to books from Copic Markers. All entries receive a poster. Judging is conducted by the People's Choice voting at the Youth Art Department, Meeting Room 4 in the Events Center during the Fair. Sponsored by Copic Markers.

Youth Art Literary Contest on Topic of the Importance of the Lane County Fair
Sponsored by Jorub Transport, Inc.
Youth ages 3-17 are invited to use any literary format (essay, poem, story, drama, humor, research, etc.) to best describe their thoughts and feelings about the Lane County Fair. Express why you feel the Fair is important. Also, feel free to include your thoughts on whether it is a good idea to relocate the Fairgrounds to a different location. Competition sponsor Jorub Transport, Inc. will award a cash prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the age categories 3 to 12 and 13 to 17 for the best literary work. You must register online at www.atthefair.com in the Youth Art Department by July 31. Literary works can be brought to the Fair on August 6. Winning entries will be on display, Sunday, August 19.

Register Guard Best of Photo Journalism Award
Photography Department sponsor The Register Guard, is offering a $100 premium prize for the category: "Best of Photo Journalism". The Register Guard is also exhibiting the newspaper's "Best of Show" photographs for 2006 at the Fair. Visit the Photography Department exhibits and see some outstanding works by all ages from througout Lane County and award winning Register Guard photographers.

Scarecrow Competition
Visit the Wheeler Pavilion and cast your vote for the most creative scarecrow. Better yet, enter the contest yourself or with a group of friends. The Land Products Department invites individuals and groups (schools, churches, 4-H, FFA, Scouts, etc.) to enter the Scarecrow competition. This is the place to see some outstanding creativity!

ANIMAL SHOWTIME / LIVESTOCK DEPARTMENT
Pigs, horses, sheep, goats, and rabbits will put on a show for the entire family! Don't miss these events featuring some amazing and talented animals.

Stallion Showcase
Don't miss this showcase of beautiful stallions parading in the Livestock Pavilion. These majestic horses are gracious as well as beautiful. See schedule above.

Fun at the Fair Horse Show
Enjoy this unique horse show featuring everything from halter, English pleasure, Western pleasure, jumps, costume classes and the category of fun classes such as “egg and spoon” and “bare back dollar bill” races. Persons interested in entering must complete and submit an application form.
