FULL FAIR TOUR 2007
GOTTA BE THERE
The Lane County Fair
is one of the largest county fairs in the Northwest
attracting nearly 165,000 visitors over a six-day
period in mid-August. It is among the most successful
county fairs in the Pacific Northwest, blending
a unique combination of urban and rural appeal.
Top name entertainers
representing Country, Classic Rock and Pop music
genres perform nightly. The Bi-Mart Main Stage entertainment
has featured performances by music industry all
stars such as last year's line up that included the Charlie Daniels Band, Clay Walker and REO Speedwagon. For 2008, the Fair welcomes Canned Heat, Jack Ingram, Little Big Town, and Chicago. Local bands that will be featured on stage this year include the band Riffle, who opens for perennial favorite, the Satin Love Orchestra.
While emphasis on the county’s strong agricultural
heritage is a mainstay at the Fair, the event
also features activities that bring families and
friends together to showcase and celebrate the
talents and achievements of its community. From
the exhibition
area showcasing the county’s finest homegrown
talent to the popular carnival midway and free Family Fun Park, the Lane County Fair is a place where
memories are truly made.
FAIR VISITORS ENJOY THE FAIR!
The 2007 Fair Visitor Survey revealed that the
majority of respondents (83%) indicated that the
Fair met or exceeded their expectations and (75%)
of the respondents return each year, indicating
a high loyalty rate. This return rate has increased
in each of the past five years, indicating a high
level of satisfaction with the quality of the
Lane County Fair. The majority (75%) also rated
this year’s Fair as ‘good or better’
in value for their entertainment dollar compared
to other activities.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Hundreds of volunteers representing nonprofit
organizations donate time to help raise funds
for their special causes by operating food booths,
serving as Fair information ambassadors, teaching
kids proper hand washing techniques to clearing
dining tables. The Fair encourages the community
to get involved in one of the area’s largest
celebrations.
If your organization
or civic club would like to get involved, please
